Possible Fix for CE-108255-1 ?

I stayed up many nights, refreshing and researching. One night I came upon a tip and went searching online for a Playstation 5 (PS5) and I was able to secure one.

A week passed and I picked up the system. I waited a week until the game I wanted was released and then I got into the mood. It was a ceremony. I ordered everyone to be quiet, poured a glass of whisky, and began to open the box. I quickly set it up, however, downloading the game onto the system would postpone my fun another hour or so.

After all that, I fired up the game and was amazed by the graphics and quick loading times. Perfect…until midway into my first game. The game crashed. ERROR CE-108255-1. I quickly looked it up to find that I wasn’t the only owner of a PS5 that produced this error. I researched for hours on how to fix this issue. Sony offers the following steps to possibly fix the problem.

The CE-108255-1 Error
  • STEP 1 – Delete and re-install the game that’s giving you problem. If the problem persist go to step 2.
  • STEP 2 – Start the system in SAFE MODE and rebuild the database. (More than likely this doesn’t fix the issue, so onto step 3)
  • STEP 3 – Reboot to factory settings

For some those steps may have worked, but for most it didn’t. So after researching for hours and speaking to Sony Customer Support a few times, I found some tips to potentially fix the problem.

Possible Fixes

(Disclaimer: These are POSSIBLE fixes and may or may not work. But giving them a try doesn’t hurt)

  • POSSIBLE FIX #1: Turn off the internet connection on the PS5. (Who really wants to turn off their internet connection to their game? This fix allowed me to play a full game on Madden 21, however, the fix did not last and the game crashed the next time I played without the internet. If this doesn’t work or does not appeal to your gaming preference, disregard and follow possible fixes #2 – #4)

SETTINGS>>NETWORK>>SETTINGS>>CONNECT TO THE INTERNET

  • FIX #2: Change 4K transfer rate from AUTOMATIC to “-1”

SETTINGS>>SCREEN AND VIDEO>>4K VIDEO TRANSFER RATE

  • FIX #3: Set resolution to 2160p instead of AUTOMATIC

SETTINGS>>SCREEN AND VIDEO>>RESOLUTION

  • FIX #4: Change to PERFORMANCE MODE instead of GAME DEFAULT

SETTINGS>>SAVE DATA AND GAME/APP SETTING>>GAME PRESETS>>PERFORMANCE MODE or RESOLUTION MODE

Since making changes to my system with FIXES #2-4, I’ve been able to play a few games of Madden, Watch Dogs didn’t crash, and I played a few hours of FIFA 21.

The Sony Customer Support Agent informed me that an update to fix this problem should be arriving. When it will arrive is the ultimate question. The most recent update was released 11/25, but it did not fix the CE-108255-1 error message issue.

Before you decide to return your system or give up until a permanent fix arrives, try these fixes. Another tip is to alter/play with the in-game graphic/video settings. They have the potential to possibly fix the problem for now. If the fixes do not work, contact Sony Customer Support. Some PS5 gamers have been able to send their PS5’s in to Sony. Hopefully, these fixes correct your system so you’re able to take in what the PS5 has to offer.

LaVar Ball is Back at it Again

lavarHe’s back in the headlines. Lavar Ball has touted his son(s) as the best player(s) in the world. His outspokenness has begun to strike an unfavorable cord with the public. Some would say he’s doing too much and is only hurting his children’s future. While others praise his dedication to his brand and energy he spends on his sons.

On The Herd, Ball is being interviewed by Colin Cowherd. While discussing his Big Baller Brand and the number of shoes sold, co-host Kristine Leahy was sure to voice her displeasure with the brand. Leahy gave her great advice that “…in order to have a  successful company, you’re going to have women who like your brand,” and Lavar was ready to respond with “…yeah if you have a women’s company.”

Of course, after his comments the internet made their own interpretation that Lavar is being “disrespectful to women”. I don’t think Lavar was disrespectful at all. Women may just not be in his target demographic. What’s wrong with that?

People these days are uber-sensitive. So sensitive that it’s rubbing off on our sports. Basketball these days is a watered down version of what he was accustomed to years ago. Same could be said for a lot of things.

Many people don’t like the ones who are candid and forthright. Let’s water down how we think so it’s easy to digest. Lavar Ball is many things. He’s obnoxious, he’s arrogant, he’s outspoken, and there’s no question that he loves his children (even if it’s in faux-Joe Jackson type of way).

Let the man sell his brand. Everyone wants to feel included, but life isn’t about “inclusion”. We live in a world where there’s supposedly hundreds of genders and the “Woman of the Year” was born a man. That’s pretty much why Bruce Caitlyn Jenner won the award. It’s a confusing time to live in.

Get off Lavar’s back. I’m pretty sure if the tables were turned and a woman said that her company “wasn’t for men” there wouldn’t be much of a problem. But, because he’s a man and is not including women in his target market – we have a problem.

I think the real issue here is that the man is selling a $495 shoe for a player who has not stepped foot in NBA. He hasn’t even been drafted yet. Who knows if Lonzo Ball is the second coming of Darko Miličić or the next Jason Kidd? That seems to be the only issue here.

NBA Playoff Basketball At Its Finest

Why Playoff Basketball is the Best

If the recent antics and storylines aren’t enough to persuade you that playoff basketball is where it’s at, then I don’t know what will. From the rough play in the Celtics and Wizards series to the Big 4 doing damage in Golden State there’s no shortage of intriguing gameplay.

The marvelous Russell Westbrook show has come to an end and Paul Pierce has stepped off the court the last time as a player. The battle of MVP trophy aka the Rockets-Thunder series proved to be a showcase of “WOW”. Westbrook went to work, displaying why he’s a finalist in the race for the MVP trophy. But James Harden wasn’t going to allow an old teammate to send him home packing early. Instead, Harden sustained his claim to the MVP trophy.

It’s difficult to think of any team – not named Cleveland – that can thwart the Golden State Warriors. They successfully took away the chances of any other team in the west succeeding by obtaining Kevin Durant. They don’t need him. They’re just as dangerous without him. The Warriors knew his added star power on another team could result in a slightly challenging road to the Finals. So why not lure one of the top 5 players in the league with grandeur of hoisting a championship trophy?

The Celtics began the playoffs on a somber note. Isiah Thomas suffered a heart breaking loss. The Bulls came in and conquered briefly. Rajon Rondo became injured, Dwayne Wade’s age began to show, and Jimmy Butler’s greatness could not withstand the gritty Celtics.

The Wizards have the swagger of their starting point guard, John Wall. A team that plays with a chip on their shoulder. They’re a rough bunch of players. In a league plagued by “soft play”, they epitomize the style of ball played years ago. Their rugged play was too much for the Atlanta Hawks.

Round Two

Now we’re onto round two. The Cavaliers quickly handled the Indiana Pacers, the San Antonio Spurs used their experience and their own MVP candidate, Kawai Leonard to fend off the pesky Grizzlies. And Utah is back to their old ways and winning in the playoffs. Here are a few intriguing storylines to look at during the second round of the NBA Playoffs:

  • The Varsity – JV Series. The Cleveland Cavaliers are up against the Toronto Raptors. Rematch of last year’s conference finals. This year the Raptors have a few new additions (Serge Ibaka and P.J. Tucker) along with many familiar faces. One would think that the outcome would be a competitive series. In place of a competitive series, we’ve been subjected to watch as LeBron James and the Cavaliers treat the Raptors like the JV team. If DeRozan can’t lend a supporting hand against the Cavaliers then it’s all up to Kyle Lowry. With all due respect, Lowry can’t do it on his own. Expect to see more of Cleveland pounding Toronto if DeRozan remains M.I.A.

  • Kelly & Kelly. Old school basketball was a game where the tough ruled. Imagine if the Bad Boys played today. They’d be in the penalty within 2 minutes. The game has been toned down. Softer – for lack of a better word. That’s why the Celtics and Wizards series is intriguing. Kelly Olynyk – the same man who took down Kevin Love – set a hard screen on Kelly Oubre Jr. of the Wizards. Next thing you know, a rattled Oubre is charging towards Olynyk and what ensues is an ejected Oubre and Washington team that fed off the energy of the altercation. If you missed the squabble, you can see it here: Kelly vs. Kelly. Don’t think that Oubre Jr. was only upset with the hard screen. The hard screen was the essentially the
“straw that broke the donkey’s back”. A man can only take so much. Look for more physicality in this series as the Wizards look to tie things up.

  • Parker-less Spurs. The Spurs are good. They’ve been good for at least the past 18 years. This year they don’t have Big Fundamental in Tim Duncan. No worries. Kawai Leonard picked up the slack. After a challenging Memphis Grizzlies series, the Spurs were up against a run-n-gun team in the Houston Rockets. Things didn’t look good in game one for the Spurs. Game two was a different story. The Spurs played inspired basketball and were able to tie the series. Unfortunately, they lost their starting veteran guard Tony Parker. Question is, can the Spurs survive the loss of Parker or will they run out of steam before reaching the finish line?

  • Golden Boys. It’s tough trying stop the Golden State Warriors. Once you think you’ve got them solved, they hit you with another surprise. Utah squeaked by the Los Angeles Clippers but the talent the Warriors bring to the court outmatches the talent brought by the Clippers, especially when Blake Griffin went down. Utah simply has to hope for a bad shooting performance. An off day in Golden State could mean victory for Utah but that’s just one game. Draymond will continue with the trash talk and Golden State will continue to light the nets on fire.

Seeing the same team – game after game – will make tensions flare. The emotional carryover from game to game can either make or break a team. But I’ll stand on a limb – a pretty strong limb – and say that we’re in for a familiar final series. Cleveland and Golden State look primed to represent the Eastern and Western conferences. Unless there’s a storyline that we don’t know of yet. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There’s No Loyalty in Today’s Employment Game

We all want loyalty. Loyalty from a friend, a pet, family and maybe even your job. It’s something that we want. Having this allows us to feel at ease. Comfort.

We hope that we can find a loyal friend or pet. We hope that our family is loyal to us. Jobs assert that you stay loyal to them. “Be a loyal and hard-working employee”. It’s funny that employers want us to be loyal to them while their loyalty remains to be focused on the company’s capital.

Employers select the perceived “perfect” candidate and assimilates them into their team. You are expected to be hard working, dependable and ultimately a loyal member of the team. Like most, my hard working and dependable qualities will shine despite my loyalty to a company. But how can we be loyal to a company that we’re only a number to?

Jobs are hard to come by. It’s an employers playground. Hundreds of people apply to these jobs thanks to the job shortages (jobs that actually pay a living wage). Employers go through these applications and resumes and pick the best candidate or the candidate that has an “inside connection”. You work and they demand you to give your all to the company. Dedicate hours of our precious time for the good of the company. Although, letting people go does cost the company money, they are just as willing to dive into the plethora of resumes of eager applicants who would jump at the chance to hop on the team.

We are more or less a number, especially when working with big companies. Their capital is their only focus. Some companies fail to realize that their employees are essential to their success. They are quick to replace, yet demand you dedicate your life to their company when you’re only a body to them. How can you be loyal to a company that cannot guarantee the same amount of loyalty back?

I’ve witnessed this first hand. I watched as co-workers were replaced as quickly as they were let go. When co-workers pass away, we share the news and get back to work. Less than 8 hours later, we forget all about the passing away of a co-worker. Almost immediately that spot is filled and the person whose spot was vacant due to their untimely death is forgotten and it’s business as usual.

We must evaluate our importance to our company. All of us work for different companies with different views. Some companies MAY be loyal. A smaller company with a more personable presence will most likely be more loyal than these large companies. They shell out low pay rates and expect you to give your all. Pay rates will be my focus on the next article as those are subject to debate as well.

We all need sources of income to get through life. It’s inevitable. Which means we need jobs and our loyalty to the company needs to be perceived by the employer. These jobs are a necessity, without them we are no longer bringing in an income. We’d be broke without these jobs, so we must stress our allegiance with the company to stay aboard.

That’s why we see an increase in start-ups and small companies. Nobody wants to work tirelessly for years and not receive their just due. You toil for a company for years and may get a farewell party and possibly a plaque. That’s all good and well but that only applies to a select few. Once you’re not apart of that company, it’s “ASTA LA VISTA”.

This is my opinion to the subject. There may be others who feel opposite of how I feel. However, one cannot deny that the average employee is just a body in this big corporations. They have hundreds biting at a chance to take your position. A screw up will just mean the next man (or woman) is up. It’s like the turnover rate is non-existent.

So before you give your all to a company, determine if they are loyal to you. But we all know we can’t just up and leave a company merely on their lack of allegiance. We need that paper. Dinero. Mula. Pesos. CASH! Having established that it’s a difficult decision to make. Ultimately, we need to show these companies that they need us just as much as we need them and that we expect them to be just as loyal to us as we are to them.

The Plan: 2017

The struggle is real. If it isn’t money issues, it’s another issue. But that’s okay! I’m a firm believer in Christ. I’m not religious, however, growing up in a family that attended and was involved with church regularly makes it difficult to turn your back on something that you’ve been taught your whole life.

Having said that, I believe that this year is the year that I get off my ass and make a difference in MY life and be an inspiration to others. I’ve gone through the thick and thin and it has only made me a better person. Through these times, I realized that my family has my back. Not just monetary help, but through their prayers I have persevered in some trying times.

Struggle builds character. It’s a proven fact. Adversity makes you THAT much stronger. When you’re handed things in life, you received the easy way out. I don’t hate on those who are handed things throughout their life, but I do know that my success without being handed anything makes my success that much rewarding.

I’m a very temperamental person. Thanks to Bi-Polar, my road to success is even more of an uphill climb. Many people claim they’re bi-polar simply because their mood fluctuates from day to day. Those idiots misinformed people have no clue what its like living with bi-polar. Everyday not knowing which person you’re going be that is daunting. You have no control of your feelings. One moment, you’ll be optimistic and full of drive and the next you’re sulking in the corner wondering how you’re going make it. Definitely not fun. Everyone has their own confliction. This is mine. I’m not ashamed of it. Again, like I said in the previous paragraph, this will only make my success sweeter.

Many people set New Years resolutions. Lose weight, make more money, become a better person are common resolutions but usually fly out the window months later because life occurred. I hope to not make that same decision and let my goals dissipate because life hit me harder than expected. Those strenuous times are only pot holes in the road to success. Those pot holes may destroy your tire, but having the ability to change that tire and keep pushing is SO essential.

So to those who have made their resolutions, make sure you stick to what your goal is. Don’t let life’s hiccups deter you from what you have your mind set to do. I plan on following my goals. You only live once. Why worry about what the next person thinks? That has been my personal hurdle as well; wondering what the next person thinks. I’ve cared about my personal image and how I’m perceived to make the appropriate moves that I need to make. Don’t be in that position. Everyone believes in some sort of higher power…well most of everybody. Let that be your motivation. Let your family be your motivation. Let yourself be your motivation. I’ll end on a cliche note. Grab life by the reigns and take control. Lets turn our resolutions into results. Don’t let things you can’t control hinder you from sticking to what you set your mind to.

Now That That’s Over…

The most heated and anticipated election has finally come to a close. It didn’t go without wild antics, personal insults and scandal. In the end, Donald Trump is able to say that he’ll be the 45th President of the United States.

The 2016 election was marred with inept candidates. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were bottom of the barrel picks. We were forced to choose from vomit or diarrhea; both options stunk. However, that ship has came and sailed. We can’t rewind time and re-select the candidates. There’s no going back.

Trump’s antics were are outrageous. I think most can agree with that. Those outrageous antics, fear tactics, blunt unfiltered views and separation from being a politician were probably reasons for his triumphant Tuesday night/Wednesday early morning.

Now we’re faced with the question of “What Now?” It’s the same question we would ask ourselves if Hillary was named the winner. We can all concur that the next four years will be interesting to say the least.

What now? What’s going to happen? Many minorities are already fearful of the repercussions of Donald Trump becoming president. With his disparaging comments towards Hispanics and Muslim Arabs it’s obvious why they are fearful. Trump’s support of the Stop-and-Frisk proposal, which (in my opinion) is an indirect way to racially and even class profile. His support of this proposal, alone, is grounds to be wary of the new POTUS. African-Americans will be targeted, let’s just be honest. Arabs, Hispanics and even those people who are of the low income class will be profiled.

I think the realization of the election hits minorities much differently than to whites. We cannot say for sure, just yet, if Donald Trump will go through with all the things he spoke about during his campaign. Think of if the roles were reversed. What if an African-American, Indian-American, Arab-American or Latino-American was campaigning around the United States, speaking illy of whites actually won the election. Whites would probably have a sick feeling in the pit of their stomach the day after the shock set in.

It’s unfortunate that in this day and time, racial prejudice is still a pertinent issue. If things were to get any worse, we’d be inching closer and closer to the 1960s. An era plagued by civil rights injustice. We’ve come a long way since then. Things are still far from perfect, but the times have changed and any indication that we may be heading backwards in ideology is worth being worrisome about.

What people can do, whether you’re black, white, yellow, brown, tan or blue, is come together and let your voices be heard. Destructive protesting and violence won’t solve the problem. Neither will shunning someone simply because of the color of their skin, religion or disability. If those who are against Trump and feel that he is unfit to have control of our control do not effectively speak out and become vocalist for change then we’re stuck with four years of head scratching and “what’s next?” questioning. The only way we can promote change if not changing how things are altogether is to put our First Amendment right to use and speak out. Unless you’re content with the outcome, that is…

Its Been Awhile…

It has been awhile since I last posted something. I’ve been dealing with a lot but finally feel inspired to write again. With all the current events going on, there’s a lot to comment on. The upcoming election, police shooting blacks, Terrorist bombings and even Ford moving small car production to Mexico are all topics that people have an opinion about. Including me.

Waking up and hearing news of all the turmoil going on is depressing. It’s already depressing enough that we are faced with incompetent presidential candidates who fail to address the real problems going on in the United States. Both candidates have lied, misrepresented themselves and ultimately aren’t ready to run the country. Donald Trump has divided the country. He has talked about building walls, his dislike for Muslims and his “perfect” plans to lead America. I’m just waiting for someone to come out to tell Donald Trump, “You’re Fired!”

I feel compelled to give my opinion. Just as I enjoy hearing others opinions. Close mindedness results from not hearing other sides of the problem. Keeping a tunnel vision solely on your own beliefs.I like to keep an open mind, since that’s what America was built on. Our freedoms of speech, press, assembly and religion. Yet, we don’t want to grant those freedoms. People object against the freedom of speech. If it isn’t what everyone thinks then it’s wrong (i.e. Colin Kaepernick). We speak illy of Muslims and when people protest, things get out of hand.

So, having said all of that. I plan to return to my blog and give my insight on what’s going on in the world, my personal struggles and uplifting post because honestly in this day, we need more feel good stories. I will give MY opinion. It may not be the favored opinion but it’s what I think and the great thing about humans is that we were created to all think differently. It’s time to open minds and get away from having tunnel vision. There can’t be change unless we are able to step outside our comfort zones and maintain an open mind.

Jesse Williams’ Speech Sparks Debate

062816-show-bet-breaks-Jesse-Williams-As-New-Harry-Belafonte-jesse-williams-speech-1.jpg
Jesse Williams during his speech

It seems as if there has been some backlash to the recent speech by actor and activist, Jesse Williams. Justin Timberlake took to social media and provided his thoughts on Williams’ speech, praising the actor and activist’s comments. However, “tweeters” weren’t as accepting to Justin Timberlake’s comments.

Jesse Williams received the BET Humanitarian Award on June 26th, 2016. His acceptance speech was deep and served as a wake up call to African-Americans and to light a fire underneath the racial issues ongoing in America.

The video was difficult to find on the web and there was an alleged “Facebook deletion” of this video. Users who shared and posted the video were surprised to see that the video was magically missing from their timeline. Suspicious… Anyways, below you will find the video of his moving speech.

(Sorry about the quality- full video was hard to find, working on putting up improved video)

What do you think about it?

Cleveland Rock City

clevlandYes, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is located in Cleveland but that’s not what I mean when I say rock city. Plagued by a championship drought, Cleveland has been a barren ground for success. Just recently, they were tormented with the Johnny Manziel saga (which has abruptly came to an end). Cleveland persevered, down 3 games to 1, to take home the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

We can all sit here and complain that the NBA is rigged and if Draymond Green wasn’t suspended then Golden State would be hoisting the trophy. Could be true. There’s no denying that LeBron James is the NBA’s golden child, but as my mother used to say “life’s not fair”.

Cleveland will finally get their “rock”, a collection of them in a large ring. A first for this organization and a long awaited celebration for this city.

Questions and comments after Cleveland clinched the NBA Championship

Is Golden State’s Legacy Tarnished?

The Carolina Panthers went on to win 15 games in 2015. They were a tough team to beat. Led by Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly, Carolina was a favorite to win the Super Bowl. That didn’t happen. Denver rained on their parade by defeating them 24-10. What about the perfect New England Patriots who were upset by the Giants in 2008 by the “Helmet Catch”.

Two teams, which achieved so much yet fell short of the ultimate goal. The losses don’t downplay how good these teams were but it does show that they weren’t able to take the next step to greatness (in the Patriots’ defense they have displayed that they are in fact a legendary team).

Screen Shot 2016-06-21 at 10.49.45 AMThe difference here is that the 73-9, Golden State Warriors couldn’t upend the Cleveland Cavaliers in 7 games. They had an intimidating 3 to 1 series lead but was unable to pull past the Cavs to become back-to-back champs. The Cavs were the more determined team. They weren’t the best team on the floor, but they possessed the best player and the mindset to get past Golden State.

The real question is that after such a spectacular and record setting season, does the absence of a trophy make it any less amazing? Sure, a trophy would of been the cherry on top to end their remarkable season but obviously the NBA basketball gods didn’t like that idea. So does not winning the championship (and losing three straight games) make the Warriors’ achievements less important?

Who’s here to stay?

After a losing three straight and the NBA Championship, I’d expect to see some changes to the Golden State Warriors. Many times, winning teams aren’t so quick to add a player and alter the team chemistry but when teams lose they are more likely to try to correct those particular holes that they may have. The NBA Draft is two days away and there has been rumors circulating that the Warriors are interested in Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant. It would be interesting to see what changes they make considering they are coming off the best season (record wise) in NBA history. Dirk would stretch the floor but he is an aging player well into his 30’s. Even so he still demands attention on the offensive end. Kevin Durant is a past MVP winner. He’s one of the top players in the NBA. Having a player of his skill set would definitely improve the team but at what cost. Who would they have to let go in order to do so.

Cleveland on the other hand has to answer their Kevin Love dilemma (I’ll dive into this a bit more) and their intentions on retaining talent. Their key players are set to return next year. LeBron James, Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith are signed until at least next season (James and Smith have player options which they could opt out of in order to see a bigger payday). What will LeBron do? Is he still searching to be apart of a superteam or will he stay put in Cleveland? J.R. Smith is expected to make $5 million next year, but has his worth gone up following the playoffs?  The only players guaranteed to come back from the bench are Sasha Kaun, Jordan McRae, Channing Frye and Shumpert. This means that they will have to retain or look elsewhere for extra help from the bench. With already (roughly) 100 million already being guaranteed to current players it will be interesting to see what Cleveland does. Luckily for them the cap has risen this year but unfortunately they are already over that cap mark. Their decisions this offseason will be very pivotal in their run to defend their “NBA Champions” status .

Chef Curry Diet

curryLeBron wasn’t having Chef Curry’s cooking. LeBron made sure to let him know that he wasn’t either. It wasn’t just the blocks and defensive pressure dished out to the Warriors it was LeBron’s dominance that trumped over all. Curry showed that he was human. Shots that normally would drop, weren’t. The Cavs were simply not having any of his usual Curry antics. The following statement fits so perfectly here: “Live by the three…die by the three,” and after Curry’s last attempt from downtown, I’d say the Warriors chances to repeat died right there.

Does Cleveland Still LOVE Kevin? 😍

It’s funny how things play out. If the Cavs lost this series, this would have been the one of the biggest stories resulting to their loss. Kevin Love is one of the better power forwards in the league, even though he did not display his past all-star form in the finals, he still commands much attention on the court.

kevinlove

He’s not playing like the Minnesota Timberwolves, Kevin Love because he has much more of a supporting cast. A cast which is far better than he had in Minnesota. He’s not required to play on the block as much. He plays like a big guard now instead of the mean rebounding machine who was a double-double guru.

With his role being an uncertainty in Cleveland will he seek an out or will Cleveland plan to let him go? He still is under contract and is technically a Cavalier until 2020 (each year he is getting over $20 million). So the question is, “is there any love for Kevin in Cleveland?”

“The Suspension”

greenvjamesGame 4, the Warriors came out victorious. However, they would also lose one of their most valuable players in Draymond Green. A squabble between Green and James led to the NBA reviewing the play (AFTER THE GAME) and assessing Green a flagrant (which led to a 1-game suspension) and LeBron a technical foul. Hmmm…🤔 It’s quite odd that the NBA would go back to a play in which no call was made on the floor and assess a penalty on either player. For the NBA to go back and give a flagrant foul (which would lead to Green’s suspension in the finals and in a closeout game). Mind you, LeBron and Kyrie went off for 41 a piece in that game 5 win. Highly controversial if you ask me. I’d say that there were many other instances in previous games (especially the Oklahoma City series) that the NBA could have went back and given Green a flagrant. It just seems odd that they would’ve done so at such a crucial time. The NBA’s decision to suspend Green could be argued as a game changer and shifted the momentum to the Cavs. I would hate to think that the league is rigged. Sometimes it’s just how the cookie crumbles.

Beginners Luck

lueFirst it was Golden State head coach, Steve Kerr, who triumphed in his first season as head coach. Now Tyronn Lue has that honor. Lue, coached 41 regular season games eventually leading them to the NBA Championship. I would say that this sounds like a case of some beginners luck. Then again, it was David Blatt’s first year as head coach last year when his team fell to the Warriors. I guess it was just Lue’s time to shine.

LeBron’s Legacy

lebronringSix years. Three championships. LeBron James led all players in points, rebounds, steals, assist, blocks and heart. Supplanting himself as one of the best players in the league and one of the best players to play the game. Maybe disliked by many, he has showed that he is an elite player over and over and over and over again. Of course, he’ll be compared to the likes of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird all of whom had success in the post season.

Where do we go from here?

  • Cleveland will have to figure out what the deal is with Kevin Love then address their bench.
  • GSW will have to figure out if a big man is the way to go. Their inability to defend the rim and collect rebounds ultimately hurt them.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens next and which players will be on these teams next season. Thursday night will be another big night to see which directions these teams (and the 28 others) decide to go.

Game Six: Draymond’s Return and Cleveland’s Stand

Hopefully the furor has died down over the LeBron James and Draymond Green squabble. The squabble and alleged “nut check” led to Green’s one game suspension. During this one game suspension, LeBron who was initially matched up with Green went off for 41 points. Both he and Kyrie Irving went off for 41 points.

People have speculated the truth behind the suspension. The incident happened Friday during game 4. Following the game, Green was assessed a flagrant foul which put him over the limit prompting his suspension. LeBron given a technical foul for his taunting trash talk to Green.

Some will say the NBA was fearful of a short series. Viewership was down and another game would mean millions more for the NBA and these franchises. This series could have ended in five. A five game series is far less lucrative than a six or even SEVEN game series.

Draymond had been guilty of similar swipes at players’ nether region but it never prompted a suspension or flagrant foul call after the fact. We’ll never know the true reason why it was called day(s) later. Was it spearheaded by LeBron James’ postgame comments or maybe the fact that it was James would was intwined in the altercation spurned the league to make a decision? Was Draymond’s actions the straw that broke the donkey’s back or was the league searching for the perfect reason to prolong this series? Who knows?

It will be interesting to see how Golden State bounces back. They surely aren’t familiar with losing back-to-back game. Last series, against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Warriors lost back-to-back and faced elimination. They surged past the Thunder in seven games, winning three in a row after their two consecutive loses. In this series, I can’t see Golden State losing three straight especially with Green coming back into the lineup just like I can’t see James and Irving dropping 82 points again the way they did in game 5.
